If you’re looking for a fun night out with the family in the Lehigh Valley area, why not combine two of the region’s favorite pastimes: craft beer and baseball?
That’s exactly what we did recently when we stopped by the Taylor House Brewing Co. to sample some of their delicious brews before heading to a Lehigh Valley IronPigs game.

Taylor House Brewing Co. is located at 76 Lehigh Street, Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, just a stone’s throw from CocaCola Park. Upon arrival, two beers immediately caught our eye: George’s Peach Ginger Saison and Daily Grind. Both are unique styles that aren’t widely offered in the Lehigh Valley.
George’s Peach Ginger Saison (5.8%) is a refreshing and well-balanced brew with a subtle fruitiness and a hint of spice. The combination of peach and ginger flavors gives it a unique and enjoyable taste, making it a perfect summer beer.
Daily Grind (5.4%) is a coffee cream ale with a smooth and creamy texture with a rich coffee aroma and flavor that perfectly balances the sweetness of the cream ale. Combining coffee and cream flavors creates a delicious and unique taste that will delight both coffee and beer lovers.
Their tap list offers various styles, including an English Porter, a hazy IPA, and a Belgian Blonde. Taylor House also has a selection of guest taps, including local mead from Colony Meadery. For the non-beer drinkers, Taylor House offers a variety of wines and cocktails.
Food, Entertainment, and Beer-To-Go
Taylor House regularly has food trucks in their parking lot, allowing patrons to order food during their visit. Our boys are always excited to see which food truck will be there when we arrive. In addition, the establishment offers weekly live entertainment.
It hosts other fun events scheduled throughout the year, such as a charcuterie class and cupcake pairing, where they partner with Lola’s Confection to bring sweet and crafty cupcake and beer pairings. Additionally, they have a happy hour every Thursday. Finally, if you want to take some of their brews home, they have crowlers to go with some of their popular beers.
Kid-Friendly Taproom
They offer various kid-friendly snacks, such as popcorn and pretzels, for purchase. They also have water and soda available if your child gets thirsty during your visit.
The taproom is situated along the Delaware and Lehigh Trail, providing an extra activity for families who enjoy walking trails. The surrounding area features the canal, the Catasauqua Creek, and beyond, the Lehigh River, creating a picturesque setting for a family adventure.
Hoppy History- Conveniently across the street from Taylor House Brewing lies the George Taylor House. Immerse yourself in the rich legacy of one of America’s forefathers, who boldly signed the Declaration of Independence. With tours offered at various times on the weekend, there’s never been a better opportunity to delve into the past and unearth hidden treasures.

Other Important Family Amenities
Bathrooms- The bathroom was clean and well-maintained.
Hoppy Parent Tip- No changing table was available, so consider bringing your changing mat when visiting with little ones.
Accessibility-Although the taproom has a set of exterior stairs, they have a ramp, making it accessible to both wheelchairs and strollers.
Parking-The Taylor House has its gravel lot and can easily be maneuvered by a wheelchair or stroller.
Complimentary Wi-Fi- Complimentary internet access is available for all guests in the taproom, which helps view the various food trucks’ menus online while still relaxing in the taproom.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs
After leaving the brewery, we had a six-minute trip to Coca-Cola Field to watch our local minor league baseball team, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs play, at home, against the Worcester Red Sox (WooSox, formerly the Pawtucket Red Sox). There is a lot of family-friendly fun to be had at Coca-Cola Field, so let’s go! 
This trip was not our first time at the stadium; it’s one of our family’s favorite outings during the warmer months. They offer many family-friendly events and unique promotional nights that our boys love. Additionally, they do a fantastic job of keeping all the kids engaged throughout the game with fun activities like the “Pork Race,” where costumed characters of BBQ, bacon, ham, and hotdog race in and around the stadium.
They have many food options for kids, such as hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy. In addition, the stadium has a variety of concession stands with diverse menu options catering to different dietary needs and preferences.
The craft beer garden offered an extensive selection of craft beers locally and from across the country. It was a great place to relax and enjoy a cold beverage while watching the game. The atmosphere was laid-back, with plenty of seating available.
Visiting the Taylor House Brewing Company and an IronPigs game made for a great Friday night family outing. With its charming ambiance, delicious food, and flavorful craft beers, the Taylor House Brewing Company provided the perfect setting to kick off an exciting evening of sports entertainment at Coca-Cola Park. This winning combination is guaranteed to deliver an unforgettable experience that you and your family will cherish for years.
