For parents who want to enjoy a hoppy brew while their children have fun, downtown Easton, Pennsylvania, offers plenty of options.

From parks to playgrounds to family-friendly breweries, there’s something for everyone. In this post, we’ll share our Top 5 Places in Downtown Easton for family fun and craft beer, as well as some hoppy parents’ tips to make the most of your visit.

The Crayola Experience

Our first stop for family fun in Downtown Easton, PA, is almost always the Crayola Experience. The Crayola Experience is in the heart of downtown Easton, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and historic buildings. When you step inside, you will find 27 hands-on attractions, each with a different theme and activity. Boy with backwards hat touch a computer screen.

Our favorite stops include the Color Playground, where our boys climbed through tunnels and slid down a giant slide.  The DripArt, where they used melted crayons to make a spin art masterpiece; and Waterworks, an interactive water table where they navigated toy boats through Crayonopolis.

One of the most excellent parts of The Crayola Experience was the Crayon Factory Show, where we saw how crayons are made. After the show, we went to Wrap It Up, where we chose a crayon color, decorated and printed our labels, and wrapped our crayons to take home as a souvenir!

There were stations with different coloring sheets and markers and Be A Star, where you could create coloring pages with Crayola characters. We loved how interactive and hands-on the whole experience was.

We always have a fantastic time at The Crayola Experience. It’s a great place for kids and adults who love colors and creativity, and we highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and helpful, the attractions were fun and engaging, and we were inspired to keep creating.

Hoppy Parents Tip- Check out their website and social media for special annual discounts and events.  One of our boys’ favorites is their Colorful Christmas scavenger hunt and giant snow globe!

Scott Park

Scott Park is a fun place in Easton where two rivers meet. You can see amazing views of the rivers and trains that cross over. There are many events throughout the year, and it’s an excellent place for families and friends to have fun together. You can play on the playground, watch shows, hike, or bike on the trails. You can even launch boats for free and park nearby. It’s a family-friendly spot with plenty of fun activities to enjoy.

Hoppy Parents Tip- Near Scott Park, there are two other cool spots to check out: the Larry Holmes Statue, a former heavyweight champion, and “America’s First Christmas Tree.”

Two Rivers Brewing Company

Sitting at the top of Northyampton and 6th Street is an absolute must while visiting Easton: Two Rivers Brewing Company. Located in the previously named Mt. Vernon Hotel, this historic building dates back to the early 1800s and is now home to some of the Valley’s best beer and food.Beer can and glass sitting in a pile of snow, can has a blue label

On our recent visit, we first noticed the number of families scattered around the dining room, with parents enjoying a well-deserved beverage while the kids rummaged through their Crayola swag bags. Right off the bat, the attentive staff arrived at the table with water served in both adult cups and very kid-friendly cups with lids! If you know, you know!

We started with the Pine Street Belgian Blonde named for the infamous Pine Street located behind the local lumberyard. This brew is an all-time favorite and has consistently been a solid pick. Another top pick is the Getter’s Island Pale Ale. This easy-drinking pale ale comes in at 4.9% and will satisfy the cravings of those looking for a hoppier beer. Speaking of hoppy, their flagship IPA, Colonel Left Eye, is a perfectly balanced IPA with various hop additions.

Not only is the beer at Two Rivers award-winning, but their food selection is also to die for. The Blackened Chicken Sandwich and the “French Dip” Grilled Cheese are our top picks. Both menu items will not disappoint. And don’t forget to ask for the duck fat fries… You won’t be sorry!  Anyone looking for a lighter options, the Bacon Chopped Salad will deliver!Close up picture of a chicken and bacon sandwich sitting on top of french fries

For those hoppy parents wondering about the kid’s menu, have no fear. Two Rivers caters to families and their needs. The menu for kids has everything from corn dogs to our boys’ favorites: chicken fingers and mac and cheese. All kids’ items come with fries, fruits, or veggies.

In addition to being family-friendly, Two Rivers hosts one of the best Happy Hours around. They offer a half-off happy hour bar menu, and who can resist the FREE BACON happy hour on Wednesdays? As well as their happy hour, Two Rivers hosts a variety of events throughout the year that should be on your list of things to do. Monday nights are trivia nights and don’t miss their Firkin’ Burger and Beer pairings weekly. Two Rivers hosts some of the Valley’s best music, including our favorite, Blue Jean!

Some other information:

Their bar team can guide you to a great mixed drink or pick from one of the drinks on their cocktail list. They also have an array of non-alcoholic beverages, including a full range of soft drinks.
